Default 95 civic axle problem

I was swaping my upper control arms today. when I did of course the brake rotor drooped a little. My issue is now I cannot get my upper control arm back up high enough to attache it at the piller. I have a B-series swap so these are not stock axles, but is houls be the same. It looks like the boot near the trans is streched. maybe something in there is loose? Is there an easy fix or do I need to pull the axle and check the joints? HELP!!

the inner axle bearings has popped out of the housing you have to get it back in. hopefully one of the bearing haven't dropped out or you're gonna have to take the boot off n put the bearing back on n slide the housing back on. It can get a little tricky to slide it back on, but its not that hard.

is there a picture or a how to somewhere that I can look at (I have the haynes, but it doesn't do that great of a job talking about the axle/cv joint) I rotated the axle a bunch of times trying to get it to slip back in so it's probably jacked...I need to do the driver's side upper control arm too is there something I can do to keep this from hapening on the other side too? thanks a bunch

no I don't have links to any pics but its pretty straight foward. You're gonna need a new band tho. First take off the band (the big one) and slide the boot back and the housing should slide right out. There should be 3 bearing on a tripod, put the bearing on it n make sure all 3 bearing are facing the same direction, it would only go in if the bearings are the same. the bearing has a rectangular like housing, you can't really notice it cuz its almost square, once that's done slide the housing back in, start with two n work ur way in with the one. Then put the boot back on n put new band on, make sure the new band is on tight or the grease would leak out. I'm not really good at explaining but hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. Can I do this with it still in the car or do I need to take the axle out?

I really don't think there's anyway to do it on the car, although I'm sure someone, somewhere will state they have. Still, it will be immeasurably more difficult and time consuming. As stated above, remove the axle, remove the band/boot, align/rejoin the bearings/slots in the axle. Install new band, reuse old boot if good, reinstall axle.

Couple of hours, tops, with time to snap pics and admire your work in the end.
