Did you put fuel stabilizer in it before letting it sit? If not, you might think about draining the gas out and starting with some fresh stuff...if it doesn't start, this might be why... Check all of your fluids. You'd probably be lucky if you didn't need to jump start it too. Battery might have been drained in the BC winter cold. Good luck.
pull out your fuel pump fuse and crank the engine over to prime the oil galley's. After a year you wont have any oil left in the top of the engine so this will prevent a dry start. I would change the oil before starting to so at least the cams get a good coating when you fill it. And it's a good idea to charge the battery periodically when storing your car even if it's disconnected but hopefully yours is ok.

I would just change the oil and crank it to as tipe R said to get the oil flowing before you start it up
If you left the gas tank full before letting it sit, you will probably be fine. As long as air can't attack the gas, it can easily last a year with today's gasoline.
I wouldn't do anything else. 1 year isn't that long.

i filled up 94octane gas fully before storage
and i plan to drive and burn the gas away quickly as i can
would that be alright instead of force emptyin out?
also, would filling extra oil just enough to coat the inside of the engine
(and not go over the limit from the dipping stick)
to drive a few kms to the shop for the oil change?
