Valves ticking only under load and only at 3000 rpm?
Just like the title says. 1991 Civic Si. I put the car on jack stands with the wheels in the air and went to 3000 rpm and nothing. I drive the car and it sounds like a tiny marching band under valve cover. Weird thing its only during 1/4 throttle and only at around 3000 rpm. Any higher rpm and its gone any more than 1/4 throttle and its gone. Is this a valve misalignment or the sign of something more sinister?
did u just do timing belt? how long it been doing this? the timing belt can be to far to the right on the cam gear and can be rubbing off timing belt cover.

I think i know w exactly what you mean. I have the same problem in my Gsr. It's a loud tick only when your giving it hardly any gas but as soon as you open it up the tick goes away. And it's really bad around 3000rpm.
Checked my valve lash twice and still ticking.
Let me know if you find anything.
Gonna pick up an ls and just swap it out a year it down.
