Default OBD0 to OBD1

Ok I have a weird setup, I have a 89 EF, a P28 ECU, and a B18B1 that came out of a integra that was OBD2. I can get a jumper harness that will get the ECU to plug into the car but how do i get the engine wiring to work. Anyone who has an idea please let me know. Thanks

Im pretty sure after the jumper wire ECU connector thingy has been plugged in all your gonna need it the new OBD1 Wiring Connectors. thats all i needed when i went from obd2 to obd1. im not sure if OBD-0 is different because of lack of wires ran for sensors like in OBD1-2.

Hi jimdan!

Use the engine harness that came on your car so that it will plug in to the chassis harness and the jumper harness will let you plug in the ECU.
You will probably have to do some repinning or try to find other adapter harnesses, dizzy is the main thing that comes to mind.

yep, you need an adapter so that you can use the obd2 distributor. and then you'll need to relocate the fan switch wiring on the back of the block over to the thermostat housing where its now located on the newer engine. if you're using the obd2 intake manifold you will also need to either drill out the im for the iat, or relocate it to the intake pipe.

that is of course assuming your car is mpfi and dpfi? all your old original wiring will plug right in.

if your car was mpfi you should be ok you will however have to change out the obd 0 injectors for obd 1's and de-pin the dizzy to an obd2 plug on the engine harness side... or you can get a jumper for obd0 engine harness to obd2 distributor try boomslang.us if anyone has this kinda engine app it would be them
in not try rywire.com

ok this is starting to make a little more sense. a wire diagram could help me cause the harness i have has the plugs off of the main harness off of the integra as in both parts of it

silence noob, you dont have enough post for anyone to care about what you say

Search their tech area to get an idea
http://phearable.net
www.rywire.com

it depends if your car is DPFI or MPFI
if its DPFI you need to do a DPFI-to MPFI conversion
and just go ahead and buy(or make) a distributor jumper( obd0-obd1/2)
extend the wires that need to be extended
If you're going to run the "obd2" or "obd1" injectors you have to change the plugs on your harness
if you're running "obd0" injectors you MUST use a resistor box.

are you running it obd1 or obd2? i can t give you better info if you post that info.

Your ECU choice bothers me.
Is it chipped?
Running a vtec ECU on a non-vtec motor AND the ECU was designed for a 1.6 and not a 1.8.
Good luck with the issues running the motor lean lean especially at higher RPM.

What wire harness conversion do you need?
All you need is the jumper harness and then do the simple mods that D16Sihatch mentioned in the 4th post down.
Done.

You will have your VTEC wire dangling.
If you are going to chip your ECU then do it before trying to run this motor.
Sure, go ahead and start it up with the stock P28, but don't drive on that.
Get it chipped and run a stock OBD1 LS map.

Take care of your engine with the proper mapping until you are really ready.

yea if i dont find a head before it goes back togeather no big deal cause after its chiped ill just turn vetc off. i just need to know how to convert the wireing from DPFI to MPFI OBD2 and convert the distributer and alternator wireing which both are OBD2 Rywire can do it for 300 but id rather spend that on my internals and do the wireing myself ill just by the jumper harness for the ecu

i converted a obd2 dizzy to obd1 before with wiring diagrams to help me.. and i found out just because the wires are the same colors they used Dont mean they go to the same place. sometimes its not as simple as you would think. Try and google that **** man and see if we can find any diagrams thats what i did.

Ok so I found my solutiuon for the wireing of the Distributor and the alternator now I need help trying to go from DPFI to MPFI. Just to refresh everyones memory im buying a conversion harness to go from OBD0 to OBD1 with a P28 ECU. The engine is a B18B, I am going to do a VTEC head swap in the future thats why i have a P28 ECU. Im going to use OBD2 injectors because that is what the harness is. Anyone with info or a link please help and if you think I need anything else to make my project work please let me know
