Default Car turned off sllooowwwly

Just got a 90 std hatch. not registered/insured yet so just drive it for 15min around the neighborhood twice a week.

Today i started it up after a week. It took me 2 turns to get it to start, never had that happen before. After a 15 ride (no problems), parked it, and turned key to off position, BUT the car didn't turn off instantly. it sorta died in about 2 seconds.

Is this normal? Or is this a sign that something needs replacement?

Also the car does sputter when i give it gas in 2nd gear in low rpm (like 1200 rpm).

Thanks for any help!

could be caused by heavy carbon deposits on the piston heads causing it to "diesel" as some people call it. How many miles on the engine?
