Clutch Masters Stage 3 ... shattered
I blew appart my CM stage 3 last night at the track. At the top of first gear. The thing was less than 1 month old. Wil they warrenty that. It should not happen the springs came out and the clutch is finished.
Anyone had a similar problem or know anybody that has had a similar problem. Let me know how the warrenty worked

this scares me, I have heard frightning things about all the clutch makers and I dont' need my **** blowing apart on $10,000 +worth of motor work when I am done with it all...
Yes i have broken it in properly i broke it in for more than 500 miles. I don't know what happen to it but i know that i hear the springs flipping around when it is in gear and i push on the gas....Engine runs fine but car does not drive
your going to have to take off your tranny, same thing happened to me and i swore it was the clutch, but in fact i didnt use loctite on teh flywheel bolts and they were starting to come out banging against the flywheel and clutch.. so you might have a similiar situation.

well it could vary well be the case. But i also get a kinda huming sound when i put it is gear and press the gas. When i was at the track last night the way it let go is really wierd...if it was the flywheel it should still be able to drive?
Recently, my car would only (barely) go into 2nd and 4th. When I pulled the tranny and took a look at the clutch (ACT), 4 of the 6 sets of springs were so loose, they were about to fall off! Luckily a friend had an extra ACT clutch at his shop, and we threw it in, solved my problem. Took the broken one to the shop I bought it from w/my receipt, and they sent it back to ACT, warranty covered it, should be receiving my new one shortly. I put 600 miles on my clutch before I ran it hard. It was about 10 months old. good luck

holy **** man talk about slight problem. Was that a stage 3? how old? and did they cover it?? mine won't quite look like that.
What were you running that in?
i dont remember what stage it was. bout 10months old, under 9000 miles, doubt theyd cover it, it was torn apart by 24.5 inch slicks, with too much preloading
breaking it in huh? ive alwasy heard that, but as of lately off the guys ive been talking with at the track jsut say dump it once at some high rpms and its broken in. anyone else hear this before? i personaly dont have the ***** to try this yet

You should use the 500-600 mike break in to allow the disc to bed properly with the pressure plate and flywheel. Do not do as they said.... it will cost you more than you know!
Two springs popped out of my CM stage 3 a little while ago. At first it sounded like transmission noise, then it just stopped shifting. the springs were bouncing around and wore away at the heads of the flywheel bolts and the specks of metal roasted the flywheel. It had about 15k miles on it though.

In my case i was at the track and i launched from about 3k as soon as vtec kicked in the car stated to hopp then all of a sudden at about 9k right before i was about to shift to second it felt like it poped out of gear...but then i realized that it did not...so i tried second and third....nothing.....then i just coasted down the track tryin to drive it in second.....soon i hear a cling cling sound and realized that all my springs were gone...could not drive the car that was that so i got towed off the track and parked it....So i take it off tomorrow and send it back to get it repalced..thank god for warrenty

seems like that clutch masters really sucks !??!! why the hell are everyone buyin them !!? ... i will never whanna have one now !!

because i have ALSO heard that race spec clutches, like more aggresive grapping (especially non sprung ones) do NOT require the typical break in period associated with most STREET or oem type clutches...
