Default leaking oil

so ive noticed im leaking a good amount of oil and when i look to see where its coming from its all over the top of the transmission housing and dripping from the bottom of the distributor. my guess is that it's a seal on the dizzy and i just wanted to double check if this is #6 in the picture below is the one i would replace. thanks guys

yes that would be the distributor o-ring which is notorious for leaking...also make sure that your valve cover gasket on the dizzy side is not leaking also...!!!

So everything that you're working with isn't filthy while putting on new gaskets. That's just me though, you can knock out the job in any way you prefer. I just hate handling greasy parts and then grabbing new gaskets.

Had this exact same problem about 1 month ago. Leak was from o-ring and valve cover on the dizz side. New gaskets and now clean as can be.
