Does anyone have a 93 Del Sol Si headlight wiring diagram or something like that. My driver side headlight only works in high beam and not low beam. I bought new bulbs today and it does the same exact thing. It looks like the previous owner or someone clipped the headlight harness so now it has 3 single wires connected back to the original harness with electrical tape. I checked the fuses so this must be a half *** job done by some retard.

The passenger side high & low beam work fine. The driver side low beam barely barely barely lights up like it's getting less than 1% of power. The highbeam however works fine.




Thats the half *** connection. I could only snap a picture of the passenger side since the driver side is blocked by the power steering bottle and windshield washer. The driver side looks exactly the same though. I think it has two red wires one with yellow stripe and one with white stripe and one black wire.

 

 

When my car did that exact same thing low beam was very dim, it turned out to be a ground problem. Check those tapped up wires for a poor connection, you need to solder them with heat shrink, to fix them, or at least use crimp connectors. But mine was the gound box connected to the frame it wasn't grounding good. There is one on both sides of the front end. Can't find a picture of it sorry.

 

alright im gonna try and diagnose it 2morrow again. its dark outside now and i have no garage

guess ill have to blind people with my highbeam when i go to work at 4am

 

Check these too things, they are the grounds.

 

I just took the sol for a test drive around the block. My highbeam indicator never used to come on the dash, but I just checked and now it's lighting up fine so i guess fiddling around with the wires today gave me some progress. However the low beam still is putting out less light than a mini flashlight so I'm convinced I have some sort of bad ground.

Tomorrow I'm going to diagnose it again and then solder up those wires while im at it. Might also stop at the store and pick up a multimeter and test light since those really come in handy and I have yet to own one.
