Default Fastline RR Shifter

Hey guys/gals,

I was planning on purchasing this shifter and was just wondering if anyone was running this and if so what were their thoughts. Also are the delrin bushings which come with the unit good quality or should I upgrade? If I upgrade what bushings should I go with?

Thanks,
Rob

Thanks get RIGHT for the reply. I saw those threads while searching before I posted but I noticed they were from at least 2 years ago. I didn't know if anyone's opinion had changed after entended use and abuse. Have you ever run this shifter get RIGHT?

Thanks,
Rob

I have this shifter in my civic, i only got a few HPDE events with it but so far i like it a lot.
It does feel like you have some play while in gear, but i think thats do to the height, when driving it feels really good,

as far as the bushing i reused my OEM ones.

I have the fastline and have done quite a few events. The shifter feels strong and firm. The instructions say that the shifter might hit the headshield in 4th gear with stock exhaust. Theres no might about it definitely hits it. I am using the derlin bushings too. If these bushings get wet from driving in the rain it gets very hard to shift. It feels almost like the clutch isn't disengaging. First time it happened to me I thought my clutch went out.
But overall I like the shifter and don't plan to go to anything else. The money spent was worth it.

I've had that shifter in my car for a while now and I love it. I'm not running any heat shields down there and have a GReddy SP2 exhaust and nothing ever scrapes. I also don't have that issue citrus is talking about in the wet... I used the Delrin bushings that came with it.

Overall I love it...the feel is very positive, throws are more or less the same as stock, I've never missed a gear due to this shifter, and it works awesomely as an arm/hand rest

I'd recommend it! Just be prepared for the inevitable "omg what truck did you get that shifter from lulz!!" comments at every car meet you go to...

I wrote up some more pretty useful info about this shifter in this thread.

I just installed this shifter, and it and my Spoon B-pipe aren't getting along. One is going to have to get trimmed as I'm getting tired of having to shove it into 1st and 3rd and this is only the first day of driving on it.

KaBlookie,
Great write up on the link you posted.

In a follow up to my first post,
i have custom built header back piping and no heatshield so i can't comment on the exhaust issues that people are having,
But lets remember that this piece was originally designed for track use, and as with any "track part" exceptions must be made to work on all cars.

oh and yes, you will get comment all day long about it's size....i like to respond with a good o'l "thats what she said"

More info....

If your FLP shifter feels sloppy, tighten the nut at the bottom of the shifter under the car! If it feels stiff/tight, loosen it a tad.
