what should i use for a ecu??
Hi I'm doing b18c sir-g swap into my civic ej8 i look for a obd1 ecu but what should i go with a p28 and get it reprogramed or just buy p72 obd1?
P28 will not give you the full potential of a B18C1 without a chip and a tune. The maps are different, and the P28 won't control IABs in stock form. It'll probably run fine, but I don't think it'll run as good as it would on a P72 or tuned P28.
Assuming you don't have inspections, I'd say OBD1 P72. You'll need either an OBD2a or OBD2b to OBD1 jumper harness, depending on the year of your car.

Which ECU you should get depends on your plans. Are you going to keep the OEM intake manifold, or switch to a single runner setup like a Skunk2 manifold? OEM, I'd say to get a P72. Skunk2/other single stage, I'd say P28. P28s are generally cheaper, otherwise like it's been said, either will work fine.
