My Adventure in Wiring (Lots o' Pics)
So my attempt to swap my cut harness (thanks to thieves) with a crx si Harness ended up in total failure. Ill show you why.
What's in the bag!!??....What's in the bag....?
The civ sitting for 3 months (started when I turned it
..just ran super crappy)
The damage
New harness!
Chaos
Stupid Roll cage...dash wouldnt come out
Why it didnt work...
So...I guess I should have checked the harness plug for plug..but I didnt. I just assumed the crx Si harness would have the same plugs...same engine same plugs..I knew the dash would be different, and some of the climate controls...As you can see..the harness that goes to the injectors has 8 wires on the Civic Si harness and the one I got has 6...cant splice 2 extra wires that dont exist! Does this mean that its not a crx Si harness...or do the years make a difference...Help would be appreciated...Thanks in advance.

hey jake. yes, that is a 1988 CRX SI harness, i can guarantee that fact as the car that it came out of had the 88 SI control arms, sunroof, hubs, D16A6 motor, everything. and it was almost completely stock. did any of those wires on the 8 pin plug match color for color to the civic harness??
Well, the harness I got had the 6 wire square plug...the Civic harness that was in there (from my car) has the round 8 pin..the colors..kinda match..but not really. Im thinking Im going to have to get a Civic harness to make this work. So if anyone has one..id appreciate it!

i'm not sure which year civic you have and which year harness you have, but i know for a fact that there are a LOT of differences when you bridge from 88-89 to 90-91. you pretty much HAVE to find the same year harness as your car. good luck with it..
reminds me of my civic wiring days. I got my car with 0 wireing intact.
But I managed to get it done rather quick. Converted to obd1 while I was at it too.

jake what a mess. ya my 1st crack at getting the car running was interesting. i tok 1 day for each connector on the ecu side when they snipped it. car ran, not well but ran. didnt continuity test anything just matched color to pin diagrams. problems arose when i had 924017865714657413 left over yellow and green wires
however car was driveable.
Well Im still looking for another harness...There are a couple other things that are different with the 88 CRX harness..so basically i wasted 100 bucks..which kinda sucks. I've just got to find a harness!!!!ARG!!!
