Default just installed turbo in ek, now will barely run

alright so i just put in my turbo kit finally. i have a walbro 255, dsm 450's, p06 ecu with turbo basemap. the car ran fine with the n/a basemap that i had. now with both map and tps connected it won't run. however, the car will run with only the tps connected. if i put the map plug on the tps, the car will rev to 2500 and then won't rev until it idles again. will not run with just map.

also, the car is running super rich. like 4 gallons in 50 miles. it's bad.

any suggestions on what to do? should i try the n/a basemap again?

If the N/A basemap worked with both tps and map plugged in, then its the basemap you have for turbo thats bad.

I wouldnt run a N/A basemap with turbo. I would take the car to a shop to properly tune it. A basemap is just that, a basemap for the tuner to start with in order to properly tune the car for what it has. It is not advised to drive a car using a basemap unless that is your only way of getting the car to a shop to tune.

Just have a better basemap made for you to have put on your chip.

alright the n/a basemap makes it run with both connected, however, it has a check engine light. i didn't have time to check the code because it was right before school.

i'm thinking the the reason it's running so rich is because it is meant for 240cc, not 450cc, looked up the order from phearable and sure enough, injector size stock, so i'm thinking of going to my local junkyard and picking up some crx si injectors since my resistor box is hard wired in.

would the crx si injectors work with my obd 1 injector clips? would this be a good idea? obviously it's getting enough fuel right now, the injectors are probably at 70% duty cycle, so maybe toning down to the si injectors would make it run a bit better.

suggestions welcome, as always

You need to have the car tuned before you blow your sh*t up. Bottom line. Don't try to be cheap with the most important part of your project. Good luck.

i don't have the money for a tune right now. i'm not going to beat on it daily like most of the honda owners in my area do. i just need to be able to get to school and back. my summer job starts at the end of march which will give me enough money to get a tune. i'm not trying to cheap out. i know the tune is the most important part

Ok. Well then about the only thing I can suggest is to search around the net for a new basemap that works with a similar setup to what you have. Or just run the one you have now that you say works and don't hit boost at all.

Quick question do you have a boost cut with that basemap and do you have a A/F gauge?

If you are getting like 10-12 mpg (as you state in your first post), just stop driving the car until you can get it tuned, or take everything off.

Do you have a resistor box hook up with the injectors?

Also, if you run that rich, you risk gas seeping past the rings, mixing with the oil, and saying good-bye to the motor.

Correct me if im wrong, but what it sounds like is your basemap is set up for 240cc injectors, and with the same pulse duration for the 450s, you are giving the motor way more fuel than necessary. You should be able to correct this in the em. Good luck. Get tuned asap (cheaper than a motor) and hope this helps.
