Default Vtec head on f22b2

my cousin has an accord cd6 with an F22b2 non-vtec... but he wants to drop a Vtec head on it, im guessing he would use the f22b1 head.... well what are all the things necessary in order to do it?

The CD6, aka Accord SiR, never came with an F22B2. It came with an H22A DOHC VTEC. It's more than likely that your cousin has a CD5. They came with the non VTEC F22B2.

If you want to know how to do the B1 swap on a B2. Read the head swap thread in the FAQs

Good luck

That F22B1 VTEC head is only for fuel economy. If he want, he can do the F22A6 head swap; which, has better air flow than any F22 heads.

i dont think that it's a CD5 because those have different tail lights... his is the CD6 model but US version... because his tail lights are two piece.. it has a second piece on the trunk, and the CD5 has only one single piece that isn't on the trunk... but i could be wrong name and thanks for the link

No problem

Trust me, if it's the "US version" it's ether a CD5 = 4 dr or a CD7 = 2dr. The 94-95 CD5/CD7 have the one piece tails and the 96-97 CD5/CD7 have the two piece tails.

The F22A6 would be out of a 90-93 Accord EX 2dr/4dr/5dr (wagon)

GhostAccord is right. Tail lights have nothing to do with it being a CD6 or not. When you say CD6, it refers to a Right Hand Drive SiR Accord that has an H22 from factory in Japan.

CD5 = 4DR U.S Accord
CD6 = JDM SiR Accords from Japan
CD7 = 2DR U.S Accord coupe
CE1 = U.S Accord Wagon & V6

BTW, the F22A6 comes from a 90-93 CB7 Accord.

Yeah your right. But I'm not taking the time to search for exact make/model/year. I just used the 90-93 because those are the years for the CB chassis and the F22A6 came in the EX. Whatever! If people actually took the time to do a little bit of research on their own. They could find the info faster than posting the question here anyway. Not my fault if they try and get an F22A6 out of a 1990 Accord and get a blank stare from the parts guy.
