Default Transsmission case blows!

Can some please tell me what went wrong here

transmission-
1st-oem
2nd-brand new oem
3rd and 4th- mfactory pro series synchro set(straight cut)
5th-oem

I just finished putting in my brand new oem 2nd gear, took it for a spin.. No leaks every thing went fine.
Later that night.. Did a couple of pulls on the street just to see if everything was working properly, every thing felt good.

Today drove the car to work. Shifter had slight movement upon accelerating I figure I just forgot to tighten the rear motor mount. Come to find out I see the countershaft!! I am so sick to my stomach.

Im just wondering if anybody experienced anything like this..And what couldved caused this.
I did indeed call mfactory and they said that 4th gear tends to pull apart, hense the need of a handcuff. Makes sense.
I Just hope I didn't ruin the gears/shafts.

Please ht help me out !
Thanks in advance

mahalo from Hawaii-Justen

Haha case had jb weld on it, so I had to grind it down so I could tig it. It's not beat up except for that damn hole.

Im pretty sure it snapped back in. Clip was closed. What's your thoughts about the handcuff.. Is this where it usually cracks when a handcuff is not used?

umm,I'm going to take a stab in the dark here. You JB Welded a tranny case, then tig welded it and wonder why it went kaboom? I'm going with damage prior to gear install.

Thanks guys For all the feedback.
Case took normal time to install.
Im sure it's something that has to do with the case, or not having a cuff?
The reason I say this is because when I had the jb weld on (before the tig) I never had such a problem. Maybe tig welding the case warped it a LiL bit. Who knows I just wanna get it fixed but wanna know before buying another case. I mean what are my options? Buy a new case and a handcuff and see if it blows?

New case, cuff, and bearings.

What caused it? No cuff, used bearings, possibly welding on the case.

Well see the thing is , I just bought brand new mfactory hlhs bearings just to make sure I wouldn't have problems.

Man I hope the bearings and gears are still good..
I guess it has to be the welded case..

Im getting another case already and I guess Ill order a cuff.. Can any body show me where to get a Cuff.. ?

Snap ring probably wasn't on and I'm sure the doctored up case didn't help. I don't think the lack of a handcuff has anything to do with it.

Usually the lack of handcuff will destroy the top two CS bearings.

I'd replace the top two CS bearings even if they seem fine.

I would like to see some pics of it apart...

Did you have to pull up a lot on the countershaft to get it snapped in?

Thanks for all the replies. Still didn't get a chance to overhaul the damn thing. I had no Problem getting the snap ring to close. I mean this is like the 5th time I took the trans apart with no problems. So I know how the every thing is supposed to close up. I really think it could be the tig weld and not having a cuff.

I will diff, take pics and post them. Im getting another case and ordering a liberty handcuff first thing tomorrow morning!

Has any body ran these straight cut gears with out a cuff? If so, any problems?

Straight cut gears increase radial loads, so the gears will push apart more than they would with a Helical gear. It is highly recommended to run a 5th gear brace.

You need to check the clearances on the countershaft.... Im positive you had to pull up on the bearing too much for the snap ring to pop in.... Happened to me several times.
