Default My PINKS All Out Review from PBIR, NPB Run!

I had a good time but I was not picked for the 32 cars. i think it was 10.6-10.8 cars. It would have been better if I could have hooked on all 4 of my runs but I could never get around the water box until the last pass. I am on street tires with AWD.

Recap:
-130 registered of 475 cars did not show up.
-NAPA is NOT with PINKS anymore.
-I was interviewed by camera crew. Asked how I am treated by the domestic racers driving a VW/import.
-Rich Christensen stopped in my pit when we were under the car to see what we were doing. That surprised the hell out of us all. He thought we were playing with the suspension. I was actually cutting the rear suitcase muffler off. Picked up 7 mph doing it.
-My brother almost hit the wall in his '73 Vega going for the Wheel Stander Prize. It was a trophy and not the $1000 prize they thought it was. He didn't win. A truck that everyone thought was driven by a girl won. It was actually a burly 60 year old man!
-I ran a new personal worst 60' roasting all 4 tires past the 60' marker. A 2.4 which resulted in a 13.1@118.6 MPH pass.
-Then, I finally ran an 11 second pass in the HPA TT R32.
-The other imports there were a few Supras for exhibitions to promote the NSCRA events. A couple GTR's running 10's and low 11's with no bar, an M5, a 63 AMG, and a SRT-4. There might have been one or two more I am missing.

Okay, so here's the run:

Did any imports make it to the finals?

No imports or sport compacts in the 32 cars. Like I said above, there were less then 10 actually attempting to get in. Myself, BMW M5, Mercedes AMG 63, Two GT-Rs, SRT-4, a tercel or starlet and maybe one or two others I didn't catch. I don't think I saw one Honda run! I take that back, there was an S2000 with a small block transplanted in it.

It's an LS motor, fuel injected.

Yeah its my buddy's car, there's a thread on it here, we backed down the power to have a better chance to be selected but it didnt work they picked 10.7's and our car was running consistent 10.0's, but oh well we had a lot of fun. I do have to say its incredible how much they dont like imports, from the shirts they sold to the comments made by rich when the car came up to run, once he was told it had a v8 then he seemed to like it.

Saw your car out there, was curious about the mismatched wheels on an AWD car but looks like it's working out well for you.

That LSx S2000 is badass btw. As far as the event, it was okay...it was the first time i have taken my son to the strip. The jet cars scared the **** out of him. I liked the big block Rolls Royce, the circus atmosphere, all the people dressed in realtree camo and the corny commentary by Rich and company. I would've bought the shirt that said "imports are like tampons, every ***** needs one." but they didn't have my size unfortunately. :/

The starters would not let me around the water in the left lane and I just kept roasting tires off the line. I tried to scrub the tires each run but the tread blocks on the all season Fuzion Zr1's held too much water. I had the Yokahama Advans with me since I drove the car there, 175 miles each way. I wanted to have a spare just in case i needed it. I threw them on for the last pass as I was just sick of spinning. As you saw, it worked out.

Here is a pass of my brothers Vega:

What he said, I think they've already gone mid or low 8s with it too.
