should i sell my car?
allright here it is, i have a 98 silver civic hatch, ek9 stock engine, intake full exhaust, mugen fron lip, rear spoiler, skunk springs, avon rubber, ghetto no name rims, i paid 14,000 can, 1 year ago for the car stock. i have probably invested about 4500$ into it, of course i will not get the amount i put in back. so here is the queston, what would be a decent price to ask.
the reason i am considering selling my civic, is that my buddys boss who is a tuning shop owner is selling a 1990 ford festiva. and i am interested in buying it...............................ford festiva u ask .........what the....... the reason is, that he has turned this little ford into an absolute monster. this car has a mazda 323 turbo engine in it, and runs 13's in the qaurter mile, .................and he is asking around 8000 for the car, i do love hondas, but i am not really wanting to spend 4000 on a swap, any feedback is much appreciated . thnks all

Actually, I think he said 14,000 Canadian, but even that is kinda high....
But to anwser your Q, personally, I wouldn't buy someone else's project car; there's always compromises, quirks, and outright ghetto rigging in everyone's modded car (99% of the time), so you don't know what your really getting into until after the fact. Besides, DIY is half the fun!

Your hatchback is your daily driver, correct? I understand your need for speed, but the Festiva would then become your "daily driver" and "weekend racer" right? Think about that for moment.. I think you will grow very tired of driving a highly modified Festiva everyday. Also joo guyz have brutal winters up in Canada.. Think about it..

You need to tell us what motor it has in it.
An "EK9" motor is a B16B since the EK9 is a JDM Civic Type R.
This is exactly why the CHASSIS code thing has gotten out of hand.
For future reference, please use engine codes for engines, and chassis codes for cars. You probably have a stock D16Y7 motor or something, right?

its a stock dx, so it has the d16yz 106 horse engine, and yah we do have pretty harsh winters up here, but it i put different tires on i wouldnt really have that much of a problem. hmm i still dont know
Hey, is the Festiva the one that was featured in Sport Compact Car? Its blue with the Mazda B6T engine from a 323 GTX? The 1/4 mile times are the same as the one in S.C.C. at least...
My winter car is a 91 Ford festiva with the B6 engine...1.6L non turbo....it pulls pretty strong for not a turbo or anything....with a 1.25" exhaust and a cat full of oil from the old motor, stock intake and everything else it G-Tech'd a 16.2 @90
It'd be a really fun car but take it from me the constant driving of a festiva gets kind of embarassing....after all it still is a ford festiva!

yah its the one from sport compact car, and yah i have thought about it for a bit, decided, some of the stuff on that car, is sorta farmer riged.......to mee but not to the maker of it, so i think i will build my car up, and finish it off, upgrade brakes shocks and the plan is to do a ls turbo, in it, i figure it should pull pretty hard........does ls handle turbo, or supercharger better.........?
you will have traction problems during winter because of the amount of tourqe you'll have and then, think about all the maintence you'll have to do on a turbo charged car. do you even know how to **** with those kind of motors.
