i have a 1990 honda accord 2 door and i belive the cable snapped for my shifter its now stuck in 3rd and sounds like its not all the way inand the shifter itself is like free feeling but i cant put it in geat it just falls back and forth and wont go from side to side to put it in 1st or anything please help some one =((

 

ok its called a transmission shifter linkage but i cant find any online really any request?

i would think it is the cable or rod thats not numbered that mounts to the side of the shifter. Im newer to mechanics so gotta work with me on this one im still learning XD. Ik ima noob

 

It has to be one of the cables snapped. It happened to me a few months ago when I was at a red light and I'm wondering how comes 1st gear seems so slow all in a sudden. If you get a new cable try to get a used one because you might have a heart attack once you see the price for a new one.
