Is there a best tranny for an H23 to put an LSD in?
Ok, I have WAY to much wheel spin, and am tired of the one wheel burnouts (ok, well I have never really done one, but I know I can) and I don't want to install an LSD in my stock H23 tranny if I would be better off getting another tranny and building it up and then swapping it in, so let me know what my options are, and thanks inadvance!
Also, I will most likely be swapping out my head for an H22 head within the next year, I just keep hitting snags, last one I bought on ebay the seller ****ing flaked on me and sold to another buyer for more after I hit the buy it now button and paid.

The H23 tranny is fine for installing a LSD. If you want different gearing that would be a reason to use something else. Some of the JDM transmissions came with LSD's already.
The tranny I have now is REALLY short geared. I hit 80 really fast, and it winds out way to high. I would like something a little more enjoyable, with a bit longer gears.

No it's not. Doesn't matter which version, or which LSD is in there, a H22 tranny is a better option unless the OP needs longer gears for some reason. The OP is obviously going for speed/power/acceleration since he is talking about swapping heads and wants better traction, so the shortest geared tranny is the best option. Hence the "H22" transmission.
Well what tranny code should I be looking for, and which LSD is the best to go with? I hear the phantom is not all that great...
M2B4 and T2T4 are the most common trannys with OEM LSD. You could buy a a non-lsd tranny like the M2F4 and put some Mfactory goodies in there.

And both come with the LSD already installed right? What did they originally come in, and about what should I expect to pay for one?
All I will need to do is swap my starter and everything over right? I shouldn't need to buy anything else to go along with it should I? I am pretty interested, let me look at me funds to see where I am sitting right now and I'll toss you an offer tonight. Will any H series clutch fit since I might as well swap it same time?
