Icon6 walbro 255 issues

To begin i have already done research and i havent found a how to or anything on a 255 fuel pump install for a rsx type S. I just bought and installed a walbro 255lph fuel pump..It is slightly longer then my original and its not able to clip in to the stock retainers. We have double O-ringed it and it worked for a night but then lost all fuel pressure and backed out of the sending line. Is there any way to secure it or mod the sending line to make it work? anything and everything will help at this moment.. pictures or links would be great

I am guessing and hoping that is a submersible grade fuel line? That seems kind of ghetto but I could be totally wrong.
