b20 turbo question
I have a 96 midori civic hatch with a jdm b20 swap. i got a b18b1 head i had pnp valve job and new supertech springs i am put on my b20 i also have crower stage 2 cams with vision cam gears. i'd like to know what headgasket i should use a b20 or the b18 gasket. i'm also planning on boosting it with 7lbs. i have the turbo, manifold, dp, fmic, i have 310 rc injectors, fmu, and a missing link for now anyways. i'll upgrade my setup later, i'll be getting a chipped ecu then have it tuned for sure. i'm still in need of ic piping and a bov.
yeah i work at advance auto parts, so the felpro gasket is easily at hand, but should i use the one for the b20 or the b18, its a b20 block b18 head. i was gonna go cometic, and would it be the 84mm bore, or the 81mm bore.
well i'm still researching, I still need to know what headgasket I should use. either the one for a b20 or the one for the b18. any help would be great. thanks
Run the B20 gasket. The Honda stock 3 layer steel HG is a good piece. If you are still unsure, call whoever did the head work. I don't recommend running the FMU with missing link. Chipping ECU's is too cheap and easy and important to skimp on this part of any turbo setup. You won't regret saving up just a little longer to do it right. Get a new fuel pump with your setup as well. The Walbro 255 can be had for like $80 with the mounting kit. I ran 15lbs (T3/T4) on a B20 for over a year before I sold the setup. With the right tune, these engines make good trq. #s and can be beat on without any issues.
Good luck.
Good luck.
The FMU and missing link setup would be fine if this were 1997, but nowadays we have far better cheap options such as Crome. I would highly recommend that in lieu of your current "EMS"
