I keep redoing my timing belt cause it feels like theres too much slack then when i get it tight its off a little bit on the crank pulley. So my q is how much slack should be on the belt and how can i make it tight without having to hold the tensioner in order to get the slack out. I have a new spring and tensioner. And this is on a gsr.
I have the book but the way it says to do it isnt working or it might be i just dont know how much slack it should have

The timing belt delete kit, they are all over ebay. It include a pair of hedge trimmers to cut off the existing timing belt, then all you have to do is take off the tensioner (NBD) and then weld a lightsaber (included in the kit) to your oil pan to keep the motor timed correctly. How does it work you may ask? The motor is afraid of the light saber (who isn't afraid of a lightsaber?) so it stays in time automatically to avoid the wrath of the lightsaber.

Op. You are going to have to pull up on the tensioner some with a big flat head screw driver or a small pry bar, while pulling up the tensioner start tightening up the bolt. It's really easy if you have the right pry bar or screw driver to do it with.
