BILLET or ALUMINUM RODS
I was wondering if it is ok to be driving around town with aluminum rods?? planning to do do a 700hp car...Its more like a weekend warrior. Found a real real good deal on the aluminum rods that is cheaper than cower billet rods. Need some input....
Some ppl say that alum. Rods have a heat cycle life that is far shorter that steal rods and u will need to cut a lot of metal out of the block for clearence
most aftermarket rods are steel not aluminum. i wouldn't go with aluminum rods in a motor that wasn't getting torn down frequently. getting a good deal on some products doesn't justify using them; you'll just end up paying more in the end.
