90 JDM lights???
i currently got ahold of some JDM lights of a 90 ef. i heard there is a differnece of the harnesses and plugs. can anyone vouch for this and if it is different, how much trouble is it to convert the harness from a 89 USDM to JDM???
What do you mean by lights? Headlights or just the bulbs? If you're putting jdm headlights on a usdm front, the bumper will rub and it will not be flush. If its just the bulb, you're better off using usdm hyperwhites or some other halogen bulbs. But to your question, for wire conversion, take the lead wire from each high beam and low beam plugs and use one ground wire to make your 3 wire combo for the jdm. Secure with tape and make sure to tape up any lose wires too. Oh yeah, the ZC headlights will fit with no problems too.
follow same wiring.

just swap in your usdm harness onto the jdm light. then just cut and tape of the side marker portion off. Or just cut the harness ends and swap those but that will involve a little more work.

Hmm, with 91 i didnt need to do any cutting and they just plugged right up. with the 90-91 JDM tails i got. but since yoiu have an 89, you might just have to do some cutting.
The othe difference is that the logo (CR-X, and CIVIC) is plastic and bumps out on the tail. The USDM ones have a sticker for CRX and CIVIC

I have '90-'92 JDM taillights for my crx. When I bought them the guy sent me the harness with the taillight, it plugs right in to the main harness no problem. At first I tried using th USDM harness and that works too, all you have to do is just leave the sidemarker light unplugged. HTH
plugs are different.. just swap them out with your 89's and eliminate the corner one for each side and your a-ok.

personally I like the corner marker light more then I would the small color difference, and lack of stickers. This jdm stuff is too expencive.. I could get tons of great stuff for my car with that $200+.
i got it when my friend went back to JDM land. it was like 500 for a used one. no pics right now, but soo i will have some up.
If you dont mind me asking, how did you get your Mugen kit, and what did you pay for it ? Got any pics ?
since everyone else is showin off thier jdm butts thought id post too.
another big difference is how much brighter they are than the usdm ones.
dont mind the sherriff in the background.

i just put on my jdm tail light yesterday. and i LOVE IT! looks very clean and gotta love the amber wrap around. did you guys had to hammer the inside to make the light fit? i had to make the hole bigger in order to get one of the socket through.
