I started this topic to find out about a front end conversion I have been thinking about. I have an 01 4 door, but I like the front end of the 04/05 civic. I have heard that all that is needed is to change the hood, bumper, fenders, and headlights. if this is true or if soeone has done it and know what parts it does take to swap the front ends please let me know.
Q: What parts do I need to do an 01-03 to 04-05 front end conversion?
- A: You will need the hood, headlights (with brackets), grill, bumper, fenders, and radiator support.

one question that I have that I didn't see answered, how hard is it and what is involved in swapping out the rad support? is it bolt on change, is there cutting/welding required.
well drilling out the spot welds is required and then chiseling the rad support off then welding the new one on...

You dont need the whole support, you just need the ones that go by the headlights, cut them out and weld or bolt new ones in, all they do is support the headlights.
I believe my thread is still on 7thgenhonda.... I don't visit there anymore so I couldn't tell ya. Anyways the rad support is optional...You can get away with bending the mounting tab on the outside of the headlights but I don't recommend it. You can indeed drill out the headlight support portion of the rad support and bolt up the 04-05 style headlight bulkhead in place. The only other thing is the fender bolt closest to the headlight will have to be relocated no matter what. Other then that pretty straight forward. I did mine in about 8 hours taking it at a nice easy pace.
