Default fuel injector

ok so i think its time maybe for some new fuel injectors im getting very bad fuel economy all though i am throughing a code 9 the car still runs great and vtec still pops in and screams.for example i full up half a tank i work 20 min away from home 5 days a week by the end of thursday im done to almost empty i dont punch it or even engage vtec.so im thinking of slapping some new or better injectors in what are some good replacment ones that will do the job great my mods are.......tdm header,zero1000 power chamber intake, aem true time cam gears, msd 8mm wires,i was told that i have itr internals but i doubt it,t1r exhaust, put back on the stock manifold and tb along time ago never even ran it with the other mf and tb this is my dd so any ideas for a better injector or for one that will give me a lil kick with out blowing my motor will be nice thanks guys

If you've got GS-R cams and pistons and just intake and header you might as well stick with OEM injectors. Cleaning them is probably more economical than getting new ones. The stock injectors are good for up to around 180 whp.

However, I don't think that's your problem. Code 9 is the cylinder position sensor, which is in the distributor. I'm sure that's what's causing your troubles. You'll either need a new dizzy or you'll have to DIY the sensor adjustment.

ok i don't know off the top of my head what a code 9 is but codes will make your ecm not run normal so fix problems frist then go on to bad fuel millage. and with that kind of thing when did you change your oil.plugs, cap and rotor cleaned or changed your air filter? and get some intake cleaner and spray that right in the intake. get that nice and clean this stuff will help. new injectors are not going to help with fuel economy unless you have a bad one and you will know when you have a bad one. oh and check your timing.

The only way to know how much power to have is to go to a dyno. If you think about it, 180 whp is 30-40 whp more than stock, and I/H/E on GS-R cams is never going to get you there even with a great tune. You really need ITR/Stg1 or better cams, good breathers and a good tune to max out GSR injectors.

I'd say injectors would be a waste of money for you unless you are planning on upgrading your valvetrain in the near future. You also can't just add larger injectors and go -- you need to get a tune that tells your ECU you're running larger injectors.

my oil is fresh so are my spark plug wires and plugs my rotor sure it can use a new one but if im throwing a code9 no point in my book if im just going to replace the dizzy soon.can you just spray intake cleaner in the manifold when it is still on the car or do i have to take it off?

well when i traded for this integra it had no intake no header and was not wired up yet this is what he told me with paper work for some of the stuff he told me the block is bored to a 2.0 the head is pnp also has aem true time cam gears idk much about them itr through the whole head itr pistons crank rods crank is polished and balanced he said the head was a jdm sir-g head the head its self has HM stampped on it in the corner near the power steering bracket i do have the paper work for the crank and the work but it does not say it was a type r crank the vin for my car matches the paper work and model year i have paper work for the pistons but again its no stated what typ and head work im kinda in the dark also my ecu has two pig tails runing out of it for what idk.i traded a eg hatch with a sir2 swap and some lil jdm goodies for the teg i always wanted a gsr so this sounded good to me ive drivin it to cali twice with code9 and all over for a year np....im just trying to figure this out lol any input will ne helpful thanks.

you can do it with it still on the car running or not. not running it will clean the throttle body after this start car with your foot to the floor and don't hold the key it will kill the starter but keep trying it will start and when it does rev that thing good then let it idle for about 5 mins . and if you do it when running you have to be fast. take whatever filter and tube you have on there off start the car ok this is the part that is fast grab the throttle cable pull that bi*ch wide open and hold it tell it hits rev limit as soon as it does spay and count one two three stop spraying still holding the throttle for another second. then let go if it boggs don't let off tell it stops bogging . this will clean your intake and valves good.

So you have a:

B18C1 bored to 85 mm
JDM GSR head port-and-polished
P73 pistons
GSR cams
Hytech replica header
Zero 1000 SRI
GSR IM

You should look at the ECU to see if it's been chipped, if it's OBD1 and if it's a P72. It must have a tune because that's a lot to do without a tune. You may or may not be close to 180 whp -- although you're certainly closer than you would be with a 1.8L. If I were you I'd spend your time figuring out exactly what it is that you have, particularly the ECU. Then you might want to drop $75 for a few dyno pulls to see what kind of power you're making.

Alternatively, search the dyno thread in the all-motor section for B20 or 85 mm B18s with GSR cams. There are probably a few in there.
