Default My "new" 99 GSR

I sold my CRX a few weeks ago and have been looking around at different cars, but wanted to pretty much stay in Honda/Acura. As usual most of the crap I found was way over priced and a lot had issues I didn't want to deal with right off.

Found this one on craigslist listed for $5k even about 4 hours away from me. Got him down to $4200 before I even drove up there and another $100 once I got there. Most of the other LS tegs I had seen were going for the same price with similar or more issues. Never had an Integra, so overall I think It was a decent price.

1999 Integra GSR 115k

Things that will be getting changed ASAP:
OEM tail lights
Different exhaust, maybe OEM style. Under load the exhaust is so loud I can feel my brain vibrating. At least it's deep pitched I guess.
Hopefully find some black/gray interior for a decent price to swap out the tan
New shocks, it's slightly lowered on OEM shocks. The springs don't feel bad for cheapness and rides like a caddy compared to the Rex.
Came on 17" rims with new tires. Will try to trade someone for some 16"s
Has a small patch maybe 5"s on the roof where the clear coat is faded. Other than that the paint and body are great
Remove the mesh grille, red Acura emblems, and stickras
Get a OEM air box with K&N drop in and get rid of the short ram

Here are the pictures from the ad. Was too dark to get any when I got home.

Eh 11 year old non-VTEC car with 125K for $4100? I probably wouldn't have paid more than $3500. I guess it's cool, or will be when you de-rice it.

*edit* didn't see it's a GS-R. Guess it's a pretty good deal.

LOL it's a sticker-mobile. Grats on your purchase -- GSRs are great cars.

For the exhaust I recommend WS2. Flows more than stock and has a really nice but not obnoxious sound.

Pretty cool pickup OP. I suggest removing the stickers, replacing the tail lights and getting cooler wheels!

Yeah already did. I posted in it before I even picked up the car. I hope the black holds up, if so I might do it on mine.

Works for me. I'll be keeping an eye out for some around here so if I find it I'll let you know before I throw the interior up for sale elsewhere.

Yeah around here it was a good price actually. Like I said LS's of that year in same condition go for the same price if not more. I usually end up driving a good distance to buy my "new" cars, which I usually always end up making money on when I sell because for some reason people are too lazy to drive for a decent deal.

If I can find someone that has one of the silencers for aftermarket mufflers laying around they don't want I might stick that in there for now. I had a ES black oval muffler on my EM1 that I like. Wasn't loud at all and pretty quite unless under heavier load. Would prefer to just hold off on it and do a full header back exhaust at one time.

Not a bad pick up. Once you swap out what you stated, it should look pretty good.

Yeah that's pretty much how it is here. The cars are hard to find and when you do they are pricey.

Not really. Blue book on it is $3600 in good condition. I paid $500 more than blue book which doesn't mean jack for the Honda/Acura market. I had to drive four hours to get it, I guarantee I could polish it up, take off the stickers, and sell it for $5k in a day or so.

Good idea on the tail lights being changed they make the car look bad for sure other than that car is very nice.

That's what I'm betting on. My Del Sol Vtec did the same thing. I'm just going to replace the valve cover gasket, spark plug tube gaskets, vtec solenoid gasket, and oil pan gasket a little later.

Ordered some "new" tail lights last night. I went with the pre 98 style, I actually like the amber part in there.

Went to put on my DC Shift **** and the old **** was stuck on. I was like WTF is this things problem. So after pulling on it ridiculously hard it flys off, hit's me in the mouth, and bust my lip and gum open. Turns out someone had put a bunch of silicone adhesive in there and shoved the **** on. To top it off the goobers cut the threads to make it shorter.

I don't understand peoples logic on this, but whatever. A new short shifter will be going in with new bushings a little later on. Anyone happen to want to trade their **** for my DC Sport one? I got use to the bigger style **** in my Rex; this one might feel odd now.
