D15 Vtec Good idea or bad idea?
I have 95 civic with a D15 engine that im building. Ive been debating on what to do. First i wanted to go H22 and then i thought LS and then a GSR. Ive settled with a D15 Vtec. A D15 block with a D16 Vtec head. If i were to do it i would do it up right. Skunk2 Valves, Cams, Intake, Throttle body, fuel rail, injectors.
I wanted to know if anyone has done something like this and if they had any advice for me.
I know i have to get a D16 wire harness or the Vtec cylinoid wont have a plug. Also that i would want a D16 tranny. and my friend just said i would want the hasport ls vtec kit, but i have no idea why
So im just a new guy lookin for some tips and am prepared for the criticism and rude comments etc haha just give me some tips as well

You need to use the search engine. Type in Mini Me, this is what the swap you want to do is called. As far as it goes, you don't have to buy an oil feed kit to do a d15vtec. All you do is pull the oil control jet, (in the block located between cylinders 2 and 3) you can pull it out with a pick and needle nose pliers. The head bolts on, and you change timing belt, to a d16z6 or y8 timing belt I think and get a Z6 or Y8 head gasket. It is simple. But I wouldn't spend alot of money on a single cam if you are looking to make power, just throw an ls swap or something in there, it will be faster, and it is a better foundation to start building from. In my opinion, (THIS IS WHAT I THINK SO DON'T GET MAD EVERYONE WHO LOVES SINGLE CAMS) Mini me is a waste of money, doesn't feel much better than a non-vtec d15.
Thanks bro ill keep that in mind, im just rebuilding my D15 for my auto class and i thought it would be better to get a cheap D16 head and rebuild that with my Block. I would like an LS swap but it seems like to much to get started and i would have to BAR the engine which is another problem. Stupid Hasport mounts are like 400....
Just keep in mind you DON't have to buy mounts to drop this engine in an eg chassis, You can use your stock civic mounts, or the Integra mounts that will most likely come with the swap. Here is the link to the mini me swap on here, it helped when I did mine.

You're not talking H-Series or K-Series here, like the other guy said, you don't need Hasport mounts to drop a B-Series into that EG. Combination of stock Civic and Integra mounts work fine.
