erratic idle have done it all any help
problem d16y7 was a mini me swap engine blew bought a new used d16y7 swapped it all back now have a erratic idle.Things i have done to try and fix
1. changed throttle body gasket
2.new icv
3. new pcv valve
4. new vacum and coolant hoses
5. check for leaks and for cut wires
6. also checked voltage for icv
7. took apart and put it all back twice
8. sweared at it up and down
any suggestions

You can check the MAP sensor signal voltage, check the spark at all four wires, check the ignition and valve timing, test the compression, and/or check the fuel pressure. Unfortunately, almost anything can cause what could be described as an erratic idle. If there are any times when the idle is not erratic, please post them.
Timing is dead on have spark and voltage in map sensor and i reset the ecu after i adjust or check anything so ecu is fresh. Also idle drops when i unplug icv to just over 1k and it also drops when i cover lil lower hole in tb.
You don't just check the MAP for voltage, you check the precise output voltage with a meter. If the MAP sensor is working correctly, the signal voltage will tell you how much vacuum your IM is creating. The lower TB hole is for fast idle and the engine needs to be warmed up completely before the fast idle valve closes.

from what i have read online i have the correct current in the map sensor and idle control valve. i dont throw any codes but if i unplug any the codes for that map icv etc..... will come up. the idle steady revs between 1-2k but drives on freeway and around town fines as long as im over 1k soooooo irrratating
im having the same prob and trying to figure it out with my b18c1 the idle just don't hold stead between 1 and 2 grand but it will drive fine untill im at a stop(it used to stop after it warmed up but now it just does it none stop) i think im going to try a new tps first if i do i'll let u know how it goes and give me a heads up if figure anything else out let me know.
Thanks

check the trhottle cable and see if it is holding the throttle plate open. also make sure u have the correct throttle body gasket. and if that doesn't work, try cleaning your FITV... http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...g+Common+Topic

as far as my car gose the idle is killing me no codes i have changed the throttle body gasket twice and the intake manifold gasket also the icv and took apart the new one i got its fed up now. also i have changed map sensor and tps sensor cleaned that **** and still no luck. there has got to be someone who knows this i appreciate al the help though i hope i can figure this out i have one month till smog. unless someone gots the hookup on smog!
I've had this problem many times before and the last time I tried all the usual fixes and none worked.I was told that the ECU may need to learn how to idle again and this is what I was told to do.
1 switch off all electrics in the car
2 disconect the battery
3 turn ignition switch on and leave it on for 10 minutes(basically discharges any residual power in the ECU).
4 turn key off
5 connect battery
6 turn key on to start car,do not rev it or turn anything else on at all just start car and let it run for 10-15 minutes. It will probably surge a little at first and then settle down to idle normally.
The car this worked for me was a 91 civic Si cant say it will work for others but it only takes about 30 min to find out so it has to be worth a try and best of all it doesn't cost anything.
Post and let us know if it works for any of you.
