b16b hitting rev limit at 7800???

Default b16b hitting rev limit at 7800???

finaly got done installing a b16b into my boys 95 coupe lastnight, but when i took it down the road its smacking rev limit at 7800? i thought all ctr's went to 9? can anyone enlighten me on this? its got the obd2a ecu "pct-003"

wiki says Rev-limit: 9000 rpm
is the ecu messed up at all? chipped? check the dizzy too

sound like the tach is off, try using a ditigal tach(something like that will show exactly what the rpm you are hitting.

FYI: most older hondas(2000 and older) the higher the rev, the more off the tach becomes. some more than others. my sir2 swap in 92 civic was about 400rpms off by the time I reached about 8000(stock tach) after market tach are even worse, I had a Tusdo tach that was liekk 2000 RPM off, I took out and now it just sits on a shelf.

i had a stock gsr once and an si cluster in an ek hatch. chipped p72 with stock gsr map and redline. but tach showed 9 before it would limit it. :/

tested with known good one and it worked fine. goes to show that the cluster could be off.
