I am putting a hu into a 02 lesabre. I wired everything up and the acc isn't getting hot. I know it works because the factory player works. There are three pins on the factory harness I did not use, scosche has these labeled "mute" and they are all brown. Could this be the reason that the acc line isn't hot because I didn't wire these mute lines? They are the bottom three pins on the right side when you are looking at the factory harness.

 

It appears that the buick doesn't have a 12v acc line, and I would need a $70 in order to make this work with the rest of the ****. Anyways, what can I tap the 12v acc line into on the buick that will make it work? I don't really want to run it straight to 12const.
I bought the cheap harness from scosche, not the "interface" GMRC-04.

I will tap into the RAP relay under the back seat I suppose.

Note to self: Do not ever work on a GM vehicle AGAIN, unless the owner wants to buy the "interface" for $100.

 

STOP.....RETURN THE CAR TO STOCK AND MAKE THE OWNER PURCHASE THE HARNESS

That car is part of the class 2 data bus protocol. There is one or 2 purple wires which are the data bus communication lines which route through the radio. If connection is severed depending on vehicle platform different circuits are effected:
-airbag
-abs
-warning chine
-ignition
-vss
-hvac
-illumination
-ecu

And its not a sudden thing. Problems can surface days or months after interruption.
Use the proper parts...its not worth the headache.

I used the top one from scosche.
With that one you need to route the acc line to elsewhere. I just routed it to one of the relays in the fuse box, I don't remember which one, but it wasn't on any of the ign lines.
But apparently that one won't work, but audioroach hasn't been back to tell me why.
