WTF?! Why is my ED6 spitting up gas??
Smells like gas in the car. Gas seeps out a bit at a time since I bought it (on the outside AND inside of the fuel door). I am stumped. Check the pics and help me out!!
Gas leaks out here

Looks like this up close

Also seems to leak out here

Up close (the problem??)

And ruin this little guy

Which all together looks like this

Lifted the other end of the filler neck (under the aluminum cover)

These don't look too bad, do they?

So any help that you guys can offer would be amazing!!! Thanks so much!!!

From: I told you to wait in the truck in Texas, United States

I would replace the three nuts that are missing {6mm X 1.0 mm}
as there is a rubber gasket on the back of the filler neck..
That should keep it out of the car..
The arrow on the right..Is there a small dent there?
It could be as simple as the gas cap not sealing...
It should be able to hold pressure..
Check the gasket inside the gas cap also..
The three nuts I just removed today while working on it! Lol! As I hosted the pic I thought to myself, "Someone is definitely gonna tell me I'm missing some nuts"
As for the gasket, that is in place and looks fine. I don't see any tears, stretching or even discoloration.
And the dent...you may be right. I would have to get a whole new filler neck just to fix that one little dent, wouldn't I?
Thanks for your reply (with the picture!)

get a new gas cap, the rubber is probably hard from being so old and doesnt properly seal anymore, caps are cheap and in stock at pretty much any parts store. whats happening is the gas sloshes up the neck against the cap when you take a hard right and then is leaking out.

So, it sounds like you're saying that this spillage only happens when hard turning is involved, correct?
maybe your evap lines back from the tank are blocked. which would allow for a buildup of pressure. with my old hatch i had let it sit idling in the street for a few minutes once, and when i came back later a fair amount of gas ended up on the road. i was like uhh wtf lol. it came right up through the fill neck.

So far I've got to check
.gas cap
.gasket on the back of the filler neck
.vent
.evap lines
Anything else? Ill be able to start tackling this tomorrow AM (college life this week has been on the busy side
)Thanks for all your help!
