Default grinding

i noticed that when shifting to 5th gear it grinds sometimes and sometimes it doesn't what could be the problem?

I have the same issue, but my always grinds when I put it in 5th gear. From what I learned, the syncromesh ring is worn out.

To the OP, trying changing the transmission fluid with Synchromesh MT Fluid which may temporally fix your issue, or all together. Your local Autozone should have some Pennzoil Synchromesh fluid and costs about $15 for 2 quarts.

Same here, except mine is third gear, especially at higher RPM's.

Yeah mine grinds third at high RPMs too.

its deff not clutch or flywheel prob just did those and it still does it

I had the same issue with 4th gear in my 90 integra. It'll be cheaper if you can take out the transmission yourself and take it in to a shop. I paid 200 but I had them replace the main shaft bearing as well while they had it open.

read my post above. It doesn't sound too serious right now. Synchromesh fluid should be a good solution, for now anyways.
