spoon wheels with spoon calipers pics please
I was wondering if anyone had any pics of their spoon wheels on spoon calipers. I did a little search but can only find them individually not as a whole on the car.
I know the calipers and the wheels are quite expensive. It might be something I want to save up for. I am just wondering if someone could post up pics would be great.
Any color ITR. I would like to see a PY one but any color is fine.
Thanks guys

the car with the spoons wheels and calipers.
Also now looking into possibly Mag or Diamond Blue TE37 on a yellow ITR.
Thanks!

Sooo...are you buying this combo for the performance or for the looks? Personally, I think the smurf blue calipers are ugly (same for the flat-black wheels), but they save a lot of weight over the originals.
I am debating right now. I have enough money currently for DBA drilled rotors and hawk pads. I am also looking into the spoon calipers. It would be one or the other. I cannot afford both.
If the spoon calipers with stock rotors and hawk pads will perform about the same or slightly less than the DBA drilled rotors then I will get them. Does anyone know?
Well the car barely sees the road so that is for starters.
I'm going to be ordering better tires come expo but for right now, they will do!
I am getting them for maybe both.

While we are having this convo. Have you ever found that your stock brake system with upgraded pads to not be enough? My car on stock caliper and warm aftermarket pads can intiate ABS at around 60mph. Yours can too.
My advice get the pads and slotted rotors and see how it feels first.
I hope you meant to say SLOTTED rotors. DBA makes great rotors but they are drilled then dont waste your time and $$ if you really are getting them to perform.

I am wanting to upgrade to spoon calipers for both cosmetic and performance purpose. And I have always liked how they look but could never afford them until now.
Yeah I have been talking with some friends and am now leaning towards just the spoon calipers with upgraded pads. We discussed drilled and slotted rotors about resurfacing, etc.

I dont think you are going to see the big gains in stoppimg power that you are thinking with the calipers. While, yes. You will get a little more stopping power over the stock caliper where the Spoon really shines is, less weight and better heat dissapation. Meaning you can track harder and longer and your stuff will last a little longer as a result. The change in pads will give you the most benefit.
Great info coming along this thread. I like the idea of switching to hawk pads with those DBA Slotted Rotors. What other company out there beside DBA make good rotors for our cars?
O.P. Dont mean to threadjack but we are on topic here. lol

IMO DBA is the best replacement rotor for our car. But since rotors are wearable items most just use Autozone blanks or Brembo blanks.
The Autozones are nice because they are cheap and if you dont abuse the policy to bad they have lifetime replacement warranties too. Even if they are spider cracked from track use.

Spoon calipers will not give you more stopping power. They will give you a better pedal feel/control, resist fading a little more and save weight. Otherwise, the rest that you've heard is pretty much hype and ignorance.
And slotted/cross drilled rotors are also hyped. They do absolutely nothing for your ability to stop. Think about it...they offer less swept/material area on the rotor. The only benefit is on massive brake systems when rotor material is plentiful.
If you have a street car, Spoon calipers and drilled/slotted rotors are a complete waste of money. You'll notice way more with a set of lightweight forged wheels, good rubber and fresh fluid/performance brake pads.
As get Right said, if you can engage ABS on a street car at 60mph, then you have enough brake. Now, if you're doing track events on a regular basis, then it's a different story.
