exhaust rubbing on sway bar?
I get horrible sounds because of this.
There is about a 1/4" gap between my front sway bar and my exhaust... (maybe not even that...)
However I don't know exactly why but am looking for suggestions...
First I'm going to try to replace the bushings to see if it helps any...
But because of the little amount of space every time I head on wet roads it cause my exhaust to flex and it rubs against the sway bar on the drivers side (can see the wear on the sway bar... happens more on stopped but in drive on uphill and during right hand turns when wet when car is leaning more to left side)
It makes a horrible vibrating noise that sounds like my car is going to blow up
My car does seem to sag a bit on the drivers side in the front but i can only notice it when I'm in the car...
I'm thinking about just taking a hammer or something to the exhaust or to a shop... But I just want to make sure that i'm not "hiding" a problem...
As for the exhaust itself it seems to be sized at 2 1/4"; I'm not sure if this is stock or not, guy who owned it before me had put on a 4" magnaflow muffler on it which i'm also looking to downsize...

Did you buy the swaybar used? Is it meant for an EM2 application?
I ask because RSX (DC5) swaybars will bolt up but they're bent differently to clear the K-series exhaust.
I tried a 25mm DC5 up front and it rubbed on the catalytic converter.

Oh goodness, you didnt put one of those extra sized round exhaust systems on the civic? They are bad. Many youngsters in my area do this and they spark the ground all the time. And also, they must deteriorate quite easily as they sound like my weed wacker and make a very bad loud buzzing sound. I always wave and alert the drivers to this and they just laugh at me because I am 83 years old and they dont respect their elders. But I alert them of the potential exhaust problem to help out. Stay away from those extra large exhaust pipes, they cause problems and wear out fast and sound like buzzing. My 2003 civic is factory original except a colored windshield wiper blade.
