f22a1 throttle body
i started my rebuild on my f22a1 and i cant seem to find any namebrand tb for it edelbrock has some for b16s b16s d16s and i think d18s and stuff would i beable to somehow make them work or anyone know of any good namebrand tbs made for an f22a1 or that work with very little mods
What size are you looking for? The h22/H23 has a larger throttle plate and fits directly to the F22 IM. If you want larger you can send your throttle body to Maxbore.com
I thought all F & H TB are all 60mm except the F20C?? Correct me if I'm wrong. Mine's a Skunk2 68mm TB which does fit an F22 too. I got my upper plenum portmatched(69mm) by Rosko.
Inside Diameters (in mm):
h22a - 60
h23a - 60
f20c - 62
f22 - 60
f23 - 60

Well I can tell you for sure as I just measured an F22 throttle body that the throttle plate is only 54.78mm. (55mm) The largest part of an F22 throttle body is at the mouth of the inlet and it's only 57.89mm (58mm)

If it looks as though there is a gap between the caliper and the wall of the throttle body at the manifold face. There is! because there is a small step/reduction in diameter approx. 5mm from the rear of the throttle body. Even if someone where to measure from the very end of the opening on the manifold side, it would only measure 56mm and the throttle plate is noticeably smaller than the end opening is.
I think the measurements for the F22 listed above is the outside diameter of the entrance to the throttle body opening.

Buy a B-Series throttle body for it if you want, it fits, and it works.
90% of all Honda car throttle bodies from 90-01 will fit your car. Some may have firewall mounted MAP sensors, some may have FITV, but that makes no difference.
Every Honda I've ever owned/modified had an STR 70mm throttle body made for B-Series I believe. This included an H22 Accord, multiple B/D/H Series Civics/Integras.

No, an H22 IM won't fit. But you can do the H23/F22A Hybrid IM where the upper plenum is sourced from a H23 while still keeping the F22A runners. They said it'll gain some ponies but don't quote that on me though.
Since this thread was the first to come up in a recent search I'll take the time to correct some inaccuracies.
The '90-'93 Accord throttle bodies are a bastard breed that are not compatible with B/H-series throttle bodies.
If you have an F22A1/4 and you want to upgrade the size of your throttle body send it to maxbore and they'll modify the factory one. You'll need to replicate that on the plenum side as well.
If you have an F22A6 then you have two options. First, you can do the exact same thing as listed above. Or, you can source an OBD-1 H22/H23 intake plenum and its throttle body. You're going to pick up about 4mm in size at the throttle body (my measurements are at the throat so I won't provide data until I measure them all correctly...or you can find it elsewhere on the internet) and the volume of the plenum will be larger as well. With the H22/H23 style of throttle body the aftermarket has opened up to you and you can go with any aftermarket one you desire.
Side note:
You can get an OBD-2 plenum as well but you'll need to get a 3-wire IACV connector to mate that IACV to your Accord harness. Your harness has two wires but it's compatible. Look it up.
Also, as mentioned before some throttle bodies have the MAP sensor on top of them. You can choose to leave it unplugged and continue using the one inside the black box on the firewall or you can find a connector in the junkyard and eliminate the one in the black box to use the one on the throttle body.
