My HU died and I'm looking for a replacement. Does anyone have any feedback on the new Pioneer units? I'm thinking about getting the DEH-P7200HD

 

for the price of that i'd go with a KENWOOD EXCELON KDC-X993

What makes it that much better of a unit?

Would you know if has Kenwood changed their menu system at all? I've really never liked the way their menus are layed out.


Someone at work recommended the Eclipse CD5030. I honestly don't know anything about this brand except that it was always pricey.

Eclipse makes some good equipment. I like pioneer for simplicity and sound quality. The new Kenwoods are nice but are confusing if you dont understand the menu system. I am not sure if pioneer has released the new models to stores yet. I work at best buy and the models arent even in our system yet.

I've had Pioneer and Kenwood head units and both are great but I prefer the Pioneer. A friend of mine had an Eclipse head unit and speakers and I was really impressed with it, just the price of them kept me from buying one.

 

is eclipse still in business? Ive heard they folded but were bought by someone? fujitsu maybe?

 

I have try any of the new Pioneer H/u but I'm pretty much sure it good because I'm owner of their products. Alpine make a good stuff too..

 

My alpine idxa305 headunit is great and it has some of the best ipod controls I have ever used.

 

my bro has the 2010 pioneer with the wheel and the small screen to one side. the face detaches but the screen stays. his wheel seems cheap but i like how it scrolls through the ipod menu better than the kenwood 993.

 

I ended up ordering it this weekend. I've been happy with Pioneer in the past and I just can't deal with a broken HU any longer.
