boosting my stock gsr
first of all i dont mean to make a thread about since im sure its been covered but everytime i try to search on here it gives me a page saying ''bad request''
anyway i have an all stock gsr
its my dd so im not looking for a big power
from what i hear i can boost safely on my stock motor 3-5 pounds
imy question is that is it true i can boost it safely 3-5 pounds?
also if so what turbo should i get for this low amount needed?
now this may sounds stupid/noob thought but
i was thinking of just getting a stock turbo of my buddys eclipse and just buy the piping intercooling stuff off ebay since its just gonna be a basic turbo setup, does that sound good or just plain dumb?
all opinions are needed please..

I live in cincinnnati ohio, and i went to TPR and talked to the owner and he told me that i could safely run about 8-9 punds with a good tune. I am in the same situation you are. The eclipse turbo would work fone though. I would bump up to at least 7 or 8 pounds, you will get bored with 4 or 5 real quick.
First, im gonna advise you to do research about forced induction. If the search feature doesnt work for you here on honda-tech, use google.
Second, boost level is irrelevant. Think of it in terms of power instead. A stock eclipse turbo is either a 14b or a t25 depending on the year and if its auto it can be a 13b. In either case, both of those turbos are waaaay too small for even a stock gsr head. Unless you find something bigger, you are better off getting some ITR cams nice headers and a good tune. And odds are you will probably have a better/more usable power band.
Hope that helps a bit. Go into the forced induction section and check out some peoples setups/builds. Youll have a better idea of whats going on.

^^^truer words never spoken.
if you're not looking for crazy hp increases and it's your dd, i'd probably just invest in some n/a bolt-ons and call it a day. try a nice intake mani, intake, some itr cams, full exhaust and a tune. i think after all that, you'll be just as happy and not have as much money tied up as with boost.
Not to sound redundant, but you need to do research before turboing your car...stock or otherwise. Read through the Forced Induction FAQ and look through that forum before moving forward on your project as it will save you quite a few headaches. If you have further questions after 'enlightening' yourself, then ask (in FI of course)
