Please help! I don't want any other car!!
After several weeks of searching I found my perfect car - a 2000 Accord EX V6 Coupe, great mileage, price and condition. I'd heard nothing but good things about how reliable Honda's were and I loved the look and the way the car drove.
However before I went back to the dealer to buy the car I did some research and found out about all the transmission problems, lawsuits and recalls with this model. I also spoke to a mechanic and he told me that around 30% of all 1998-2002 V6 Accords had transmission problems and even with an inspection you couldn't tell if it was going to fail.
I love the car so much I was even considering buying an extended warranty but it just seems stupid to buy a car with a known defect and then pay extra in case it fails....
So I started looking into the 2003-2004 models (even though I'm not as keen on the body shape and they're more expensive) and found more recalls and problems with transmission!
Been forced to look at Toyota Camry Solara but they are so ugly and girly.
What should I do?! I don't want any other car!

If you really dig the 98-02 accord style then get a 4cyl/5speed coupe. Or you should consider getting a 94-97 accord EX 2door, Auto or 5 speed, 4 cyl or V6 (only avalible as 4door and Auto). I've got a 94 accord EX 4door and I hope I die driving this car. Absolutely love it!

I don't think I've heard about a single issue with the 7th gen Accords?
and info on 2003/2004 recalls here - http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...0&summary=true
i had a '94 ex sedan 5spd. i loved that car. some dope rear-ended me so i just moved up to an '01 accord ex v6 2dr. havent had any probs w/it for 3 yrs now (knock on wood). hoping to FINALLY get some rims on her this yr.
i think we've learned there's no 'perfect' car, especially after this toyota recall. i think accords are the best bang for your buck. my uncle just rolled over 300k on his '98 ex sedan....
