b16 into 90 hatch
im using innovative b16 conversion mounts. the alternator hits engine bay and i had to change the mount on the engine to ls cause the b16 one didnt line up with the conversion mount. and now the back mount bracket doesnt line up...
you need the rear T bracket off of a DA integra that is if you are using a cable tranny.
you NEED to beat the crap out of your shock tower to make clearance for the B16.
you did the right thing with switching the engine mount post.
take pics if you can.to see what your setup looks like right now. if you want to et a general idea check out my thread its in my sig. i Have a B16a2(00 si) in my '88 CRX

somebody didnt research lol... pund the lower part of the shock tower in for alternator clearance. and yes you need that integra engine bracket. the chassis engine mount from the si will not work. thats why you got the swap mounts

would be nice if u guys could tell me everything u had to do to get the fitment right. i shaved the engine bay and painted it the same as the car so i would like to steer away from pounding on the bay
just told you...pound in the lower part of the shock tower. it has to be done sorry. and the lip on the rear crossmember has to be bent down for the trans bracket to fit.
here are the things u need to do in the swap i have a jdm b16a in my hatch u gotta bang the wall on the alternator side just a bit for the alternator to fit then u need to bang it a bit on the trans side too just a bit though and u need the prong on the driverside of the motor u need that prong from a DA integra las motor for the conversion mounts to work and then u need the DA integra ls t bracket too and u gotta drill open the bottom holes on the bracket for the b16 trans screws to fit
sweet so im heading in the right direction since i swapped the mount wiht the prongs to the ls one and got the bracket off the ls just havent attempted to put in on. thanks guys ill post pics once i can get my computer to work
90-93 integra rear trans bracket. hammer the lip down on the crossmember. if your trans is hydro you need a hydro rear bracket. otherwise youd have to drill out the bolt holes to make a cable trans bracket fit.
why are you all having to bend down the lip on the rear crossmember???? I've done about 6-7 b series swaps into ef's and have never had to do that. maybe it's cause of the innovative mounts??? I've always used hasport and never had to do that.
Dont be a monkey! This mod has been around for years. I have this current set up. You run the short d series belt and the crank runs on the 3 innermost ribs.
Now I am not going to force you to do this I am merly stating a fact that the D series alternator has been used by many in this situation. Including myself in my Cali Bar'd 1991 honda civic 3dr with an PMITR engine.
Word.
thanks guys this is helping alot. i was stuck there for a min haha. gonna try to use the d series alternator cause im not up to banging in on my shaved bay.. lol keep the tips coming really is helping this project. now i just need to post pics huh?
