Default exhaust...

So i am looking to change the exhaust on my crx. When i bought it it came with a cat-back exhaust! not so good for me as it is paired to two fart cans and is obnoxiously loud. I am in the process of boosting it and wanted to cut some more rice off of my baby (quickly turning into a favored hobby of mine). I have sitting on a shelf at home (from my last car) a brand new flowmaster super 44. Now my current plan is having an exhaust shop cutting off the old exhaust and putting a stainless 2.5 from the dp back, leaving the cat on (to help reduce noise) and running the flowmaster (i know that flowmasters arent typical on these cars so it isnt my favorite choice, but is cheap). Or my friend recently bought a jeep and really wants this flowmaster, and is willing to trade his stock muffler from his jeep (2001) for the flowmaster. If i did this id still do the 2.5 from the dp but take out the cat (no emissions in my state ). I was wondering which route would be most beneficial with the least noise.

i was thinking of doin the exact same thing almost. im goin to do it with a universal magniflow muffler next paycheck. it looks plain and sounds way better then stock muffler (but not too loud, just adds a deeper and a little louder tone) ive seen it done and im doin it so thats what i recommend as far as noise goes

if ur plannin on boosting it, i'd take the cat off either way. the turbo will deaden alot the noise, kinda acts like a resonator... and i would prolly run the flowmaster, no tellin wut kinda flow you'll get outa that stock jeep mufler... its not designed for performance, its only made to cut down the noise of the vehilce... but if your concerned about how loud your car is gonna be id deff run a resonator instead of a cat....

yep, just run the resonator after the downpine (in place of the cat) then run ur flowmaster in place of the stock muffler... but dont use the stock piping of course... use at least 2.5in, u dont want to have any back pressure at the turbo...
