Hey, I've got a benen three point strut bar, and I'm considerin buying ground control extended top hats and feel like they might not be compatible cuz they'll hit. What strut bars will work with gc extended top hats? And anyone wanna buy my benen one?

 

If the benen mounts to the top of the shock tower instead of the tophat studs it won't work. You can use the style that mounts to the tophat studs for the most part. I had to notch my CTR one a bit for my DIY tophats to clear it. Hope that helps

 

Maybe...it looks like there might be enough clearance between the two bars over the shock tower area for the upper mount to poke through. The mounting location is raised a bit over the shock mount hole.



Here's an example of how high the mount sticks up.


See that little red dimple on the middle/lower right of the picture? That would be the forward mounting location for the Benen bar.

 

Yeah it will be close, you can always buy the tophats since they help out a lot and if the bar doesn't end up fitting im sure you can sell it or at the least trade it.

Thanks guys, I sold my benen bar and im gonna buy the tophats cuz I wanna do the most minimal damage to my koni's. Im gonna save up and eventually get a password jdm 3pt. they mount up to the shock towers just like you showed in that second picture so it will fit great.
