I thought k20's cleared stock hoods and only k24's needed modifying to the hood. Either way you might need to just cut the webbing under the hood and put spacers to tilt the hood up.

If you face the car, draw a straight line directly across from the highest point of the engine to your fender. Now measure that point on both sides of the fender back to where the hood hinges. Now use that measurement, and measure that distance down the hood (back toward you), and draw a line directly across (the underside of the hood), and that can be used as a reference point when you're drawing the shape of the cut you would like to make on the hood.

You can also use this method longitudinally to mark a central cross hair.

this sounds like a good idea, maybe i should run some string over the engine to get better messurements, i just want to have a tight fit and not have the hole any bigger then it needs to be, thanks for the heads up

hood does not clear, if you put washers in the motor mounts you can lower the engine enough, and jack the back of the hood up to get it to close with a rbc intake manifold, but then you and ground clearance issuse and with a case aluminum oil pan if you bottom out its likly they will break, sir front end will clear the k20 with some wabbing cut out, k24 will not clear the sir front

have you thought of mocking one up with some thick cardboard first.
