rear bumper reinstall issue...
apparently some *** hat super ziptied my rear bumper =\ *** load of trouble when i was removing it... took hella days and a lot of paint chips on that middle trim piece between trunk and bumper due to having to shove a cutter in there to get at the bumper.
i went from 97spec to 98+ spec bumper
and now the onlything holding up the bumper are 2 screws on the side... any ideas to make it more secure or flush it ?
i have no idea how who ever previously had the car got zipties in there to begin with.
any help appreciated, i dont want my **** flying off on the freeway

I think the way to do it would be go to honda get those little plastic screw clip things take the piece between bumper and trunk off there are holes in the bumper that take clips into them these hold bumper on as well as the screws on the side.

Rear valence, or rear skirt as Honda calls it, #18 in the diagram above. You actually do not need to remove this to get the rear bumper off. But to remove it, I believe there are several nuts accessible after removing the tail light housings.

In this diagram above, you can see the #19 rear bumper beam, which is attached to the #3 bumper cover and comes off as one unit. The bumper beam has 4 threaded studs coming through the body. Remove the rear-most plastic trim in the cargo area, and pull away the rear portion of both side trim pieces, and you'll see four body-colored 10mm nuts holding those threaded studs in place. Remove those 4 nuts, the 2 screws at each end of the bumper cover in the fender well, and the 2 bolts under the license plate, and the bumper cover should pull off.
There are actually 9 plastic clips holding the #19 bumper beam to the bumper cover, and I bet that's what the previous owner used the zip-ties for, to replace those clips. So you didn't have to clip the zip ties. You could have remove the bumper beam with the bumper as one unit as I described.
So to answer your original post, you could remove that bumper beam that's probably still on the car, and zip-tie it to the bumper cover and the put it all back on (probably what the previous owner did), or you could order the factory clips for it.

my god it was hard to get the ones behind the panels.. i had to borrow a wrench and it arms kept getting scratched and scrubbed between the panels and the trunk lol. didn't take long to take it off but it was still aggrivating
and apparently my bumper isnt sitting so flush on the left side... its still kinda hanging so it looks ghetto
it slants down this way /
-sigh- any ideas? it could be that because that bolt spot at the fender from the outside driver side is loose tho...
