what does the iab (intake air bypass) do in a gsr motor
well jus like the title says i would like to know what is the advages of iab does it help in hp or tourqe is it better to have it or not thank yall in advancs
For a stock motor I'd say it's good. It gives you essentially two different intake manifolds. One with long skinny runners for low end torque and one with short and fatter runners for more top end. If you go turbo or do an all out NA build, then you may want to think about a Skunk2 style intake manifold since they are less restrictive. The downfall of that is you lose low end power.
If you change the manifold, I was told you should retune it. An intake alone won't give you much of an increase in power. You sound kind of new to this, so I'm going to say to save your money and buy some ITR or stage 1 cams and a decent header like the Hytech (or the replica) first.

^^ people often forget to upgrade the valve train and cams first. Which is ideally your main power source
I personally think the IABS were a cool invention that honda came up with. They are always so innovated just like the SH handling on the preludes were the rear wheels kinda move and don't forget vtec. However, the IABs werent that popular because it was only used for the preludes and integra gsr motors go figure. But I would stick to the IAB gsr manifold just because it was a cool invention from honda..

The whole engine works as a system though. Cams are probably the best bang for the buck, but without an intake and header, the motor is still being held back. Then ignition and fuel should be tweaked...
I think a lot of people should do some reading on intake and exhaust design. Understanding the components of your motor will give you a deeper understanding of the motor as a whole.
