boosting that f23 is gonna be just as much mods, or more........you guys act like boost is cheap, also gonna need to get it tuned after you boost it........Id have to think it would be way easier to do the head swap, but then again there are way smarter people on here than me........So id suggest waiting for a few more posts to see what some others say.......

tuning should be for either route the OP takes, optimal gains and reliability are worth the couple hundreds of dollars invested. I think the simplest would be the H23 head, if my cyl head were to crack today and I wanted to do a manual swap I'd go with that. Reason being that though the H22 head does flow better and has VTEC, how much of that powerband can you really use? Even with the H22 with it's 90.7mm stroke only spins up to 7.2k from the factory, with an older motor and a larger stroke I wouldn't want to play with that in my daily driver. I would imagine that with the stroke of the F series (was it 97mm?) that the safe redline would be somewhere around 6500RPM. With stock VTEC engagement at 5200RPM (for the H22), you don't have much room to play with. That's just my 2 cents on it

what mods to you have to make to the motor to boost it?....how about none.

the compression of the f23 is too low to get much benefit out of the h22 head....or you could put pistons in it to up the compression. the oil passages etc are much different so there is alot of modification on the block that has to happen in order to mate the two.

the f22 and f23 are great for boost which is why i suggested it. no matter what there will have to be a tune.

boost is not all that expensive if you do your homework. sure if you go to a website and buy a kit you bet it is expensive.

Lol, and putting a completely different head on a motor isn't a lot of work? You're acting as if doing a head swap is cheap.

Boosting an F can be done on a relatively cheap budget - cheaper than a H22 swap in most circumstances.

<- Did an H22A swap and know the $$$ associated.

umm did you search for "g series" frankenstiens? its been done countless times. its probably more in depth than boosting and i believe right around the same price or more in general (although can obviously be done cheaper if you have the head laying around as many people who do it have, and if you can do all or at least most of the work yourself) i was thinking about it at one time but it is a lot of very complex work. its very very very far from Step 1: remove F head, Step 2: Install H head, Step 3: tune, Step 4: enjoy yo mad veetack yo!!! if i remember right it requires parts from 3 engines (f22, h22, and h23 i think) <- i could deffinatly be wrong about that so someone correct me if i am wrong.

anyways long story short search
