Default B16A Compression test #'s

I have a stock B16A bottom end with a gsr head on it and today i did a compression test and got the results below. Do these seem really low to anyone? Why would this be? THanks

shoulda be around 180 or higher, my 9:1 motor reads 185 across the board. A stock b16 is 10:1 IIRC

Yes, they are low....could be alot of reasons. Bad rings, timing is off, valves are sealing...etc. For all of them to be low like that, are you sure you did the test properly (warm engine, WOT)?

This is how i did the test, i took all the spark plugs out, screwed the compression tester into one spark plug hole, turned the motor over for 5 revolutions, got out and looked were the gauge was at. On all 4 it was pretty much at 130 and it was set there, not moving at all. Someone please tell me if i am doing this wrong, i really hope that my compression is not really that low. THanks

Warm engine - Wide Open Throttle (WOT)

If you dont do it like that your numbers will not be accurate.

Take injector plugs off also, warm engine, WOT, and you can turn it over more then 5 times

If you aren't at WOT you won't breathe well and I think that would result in a lower # on the test.
