What went wrong with the motor and made you change it out bro ? I think my wife is going to let me get another car and I am really looking into it for when I come back from Iraq
After a long adrive back from TN. I heard a weird ticking. I knew I needed to change the oil as the Mobile 1 in there had to be at end of life. So I thought it to the valve ticking, but assumed (incorrectly) that it was a sticky valve. I checked and adjusted all of the valve clearances and changed the oil. Ticking diminished. Drove it to town to take it to the closest shop. After making a horrendous squealing noise and the engine stalling I was forced to stop. Assuming the worst, but hoping for something, I turned it over and she fired back up, but poorly. I limped the mile or two to the shop at just over idle. Unfortunately, instead of checking the plugs first, the next day, the shop just tried to fire it up. They seized the #1 piston (with the valve rattling around) and blew the rod through the block.
I cried a little and then decided she deserved more. I sourced a local used motor and had it swapped in. Followed shortly by pulling the tranny and putting in a new clutch, as the new motor had a lightened fly and the old clutch was slipping on the new fly.
So words for the wise: 1) if it is ticking tow it to the shop. 2) take it to a good shop not the closest one. 3) if you have a motor swapped put in a new clutch during the process.

So folks, we are on the final countdown here. My best offer called me last night and is planning on driving down this Saturday (10 hour drive for him). I have a gentleman's agreement that I will not sell the car to anyone with the same or lower buying price. But, if an offer comes in higher I can sell the car to another person.
