Okay.. I spoke to Phuong Le and paypal'd the money for the calipers last night. He said that he would have them shipped today. I have called him numerous times throughout the day, emailed, texted, and pm'd him. All to which he has not responded to. He claimed that he was selling them because he needed to pay bills. So whoever was in contact to buy these calipers, I advise you to not send this clown any money. I hope no one else sent him any cash.

After doing some research it appears that he has had these calipers up for sale for the same price on azht.net under username Five_ten1995 (which was also his previous HT username). And this was dating back to 2009

I know you guys would say im jumping the gun to quick.

But if someone is holding close to grand of your cash and doesn't respond to any means of communication, however seeing online activity on his accounts on different forums makes you wonder.

Yes, I do understand we can get caught up with things in the daily grind, but it's no excuse to NOT answer one of my dozen calls, a simple text to notify me of whats going on, or even a PM. All of which would take less than a minute.

His response after I paypaled him was this

"Ok cool man I just got the money. I will ship them out asap tomorrow with tracking for you. Thanks again man. "

No luck yet --- there is a "formality" that I have to go through w/ PayPal before I can pursue it in court. I can give 2 ***** about a header that I can buy on ebay or HT. But what's insulting is the lack of communication --- I'm the koolest guy you never met and my pockets aren't nervous ---- COMMUNICATION is key. I'm more pissed at being ignored than the $500. I literally make more than that in a day of work.

I'll keep every1 posted --- but stay away from this guys FS threads for sure.

Unfortunately for me I am a trusting person. I only researched after the numerous failed attempts in communication. Ill live by this saying. Once a scammer always a scammer.

At this very moment, nothing has been communicated since from Phuong to me.

File a claim w/ paypal, and hopefully you paid with a credit card? Call the credit card company as well.

 

But his regular username is a known scammer isn't it? In that case, he's completely justified.

I thought about buying the calipers as well but decided I'd buy a set from someone who's username I knew instead.

If you paid with a CC, contact paypal and dispute the charge with the CC.

Open a paypal claim, if it hasnt been transferred/taken out directly then paypal will put a hold on it until they get the claim solved.

Yes, give the guy more then a day.....he's probably busy and doesnt care to talk to you because he has yet to ship them out. Honestly I've sold quite a bit of stuff and most times I take it less seriously then the buyers.....I mean, I'm at work 9 hours a day and when I get home the first thing on my to do list is not box up some used car parts. Thus, I'll get to them on the weekend or when I have a little free time...which might be a day or two.

I actually spoke with him yesterday and he said that he had a buyer for the lights and that he was working on shipping them. I was trying to convince him to keep all his parts. However, he is going another route with his car.

Ok I have spoken to the sell I do apologize for being at the hospital all day yesterday. I had my brother ship them out for me but guess what, seller didn't have a paypal address on file. I cant ship them if you don't have an address guy. Hey Phoung my paypal is setup to send my verified address. I just tested this by sending my buddy some cash. Are you retarded? Buddy also issued a refund and it was instant.

LOL, for $950, if I didn't hear back from the seller at all, i'd **** my pant as well... and plus what kind bullshit is that there is no paypal address on file, when you send money out, there is always address assoicate with it. Check the email that paypal sent and login to your paypal and see that particular transcation.. you must be blind, mr. scammer..

Okay just spoke to Phoung and the reason why the refund isn't instant is because the cash is currently being transferred to his bank. In any case the refund back to me is pending till march 3rd, 2010

 

 

Just got off the phone with Kenny and paypal on 3 way. Refund is there it just takes 3 days because it still has to clear.

You may have JUST tested this, but yesterday was a different story. No, your PP didn't have a damned thing on it as far as your address. I checked it for him while he was a the hospital. He was so concerned about getting your package out that day that he had me check his account WHILE I WAS WORKING. He had 2 confirmed payments in there. One of them was for something else he just sold to someone else and that one did display and addy. Yours specifically displayed a message in a yellow box that read: "We have no shipping address on record...." I checked it 3 times to make sure it wasn't an error with the site at around 1 PM yesterday. I was able to get him the details for that other buyer and he shipped out that package. He just wasn't able to do yours at the same time because there was no address. I told him that it can be kinda fishy dealing in that situation, so he said he'd wait 'till the funds fully entered his account and ask you for an addy later.

Why is his refund pending? Call Paypal and ask them what the hold up is. (Edit: you just did)

He is not a scammer. He's made plenty of legit deals here and on other sites. I totally back him up on just giving you a refund. You've given him this much grief already after just one day.... You need to relax.

That package was lost by UPS and I believe he was in the middle of a move during that time.

based on the info that OP posted, I would assumed that he is a scammer, but whole thing is getting clear out, no need to do name calling, douche etc.. like I said, I would **** my pant too if I don't hear from a seller after I transfer a large amount of money to him, and am I suppose to wait couple days so the scammer can run away with my money, no. I want confirmation right away.

Clearly, it was Phoung's fault for not acknowledge that he got the payment, but the whole thing just a miscommunication, so just wait till the money get refunded and get on with your life..

 

well if he is a scammer he is a **** poor one. What kind of scammer returnes the money 24 hours after payment? I'm no friend of his, I dont know him but if I was in his shoes I would be pissed. Give the poor guy more then 24hours to ship and be called out.

 

i say give the guy more time. sometimes things cant be shipped out in one day. i too dont answer all my emails in one day. i have a business that also takes paypal as payment and i get people demanding shipment right away. it takes at least 24 to 48hrs to pack up an item and get it ready for the customers.

 

You need to kick back and quit playing the role of Phoung's bitch and let him speak up for himself. I understand that you're a friend of his and the relationship is going well. To the point, there is something odd about the entire story. I don't know the legitimacy of Phoung's uncle sudden admittance to the hospital for the entire day yesterday. Apparently Phoung was there the entire day without his cell phone (claims he left it at home). And as I was typing up my paypal dispute Phoung decides to call around 8:30 this morning. In the case my address was not provided with the INSTANT paypal payment (I have about 2grand cash in my account and these funds do not require any time to clear). It was also convenient how Phoung immediately decided to transfer the funds to his bank account, now I have to wait till march 3rd to receive funds refunded from your credit card (WTF!). So how was it possible that Phoung magically contacted you to check his personal paypal account to verify that my address was not on file with the payment I sent? If Phoung was so concerned why didn't he have you contact me via cell phone, email, or honda-tech pm? Seems like you both have no issues sharing passwords and logging into each others accounts, so explain to me, how was Phoung so concerned about me?

Phoung had an obligation to fulfill, but failed to do so. Typically in a situation like this I would gladly proceed forward with the transaction. But there are so many bits and pieces that DO NOT add up. Phoung I honestly feel that you tried to compromise me. And for that you will not be forgiven and never forgotten.
