Icon2 Clutch advise?!?!?!?

Okay so i want to upgrade my clutch because at higher rpms it slips like crazy. Other than that its actually pretty good. Engages smoothly and all. Now the thing is, i dont plan on keeping my 98 civic with my b16a2 swap much longer (maybe a year more). So i really dont want to go all out and spend a ridiculously high amount of money on a clutch, since i know i wont be getting my investment back. So the question now is what clutch can i get thats not to expensive, yet engages nicely but grips much harder than this stock crap. Ive heard people using act clutches with a stock pressure plate, not sure if thats a good idea or not. If money wasnt an issue i would just go and buy a complete competition clutch kit, i really like the stage 4 (just so u can get a taste of what im looking for).

thanks in advance,

why not just an oem replacement if you plan on selling, if its slipping then the clutch worn and needs to be replaced

Agreed! The stock clutch should hold just fine till you sell. But maybe trying going with a better brand oem replacement clutch like Exedy. It'll last longer.

buy a cheap ebay one, I bought a F1 brand i think it was not even sure, and it is comparable to my ACT one that i have now. Think I spent about 180 on it and the ACT i got a GOOD deal on but retails for around 500

I would just get an exedy. I put one in my old D16Z6 way back and it was fine.

i've had xtd clutches before. they grab pretty good. and they're cheap. i sure wouldn't spend money on an act or exedy if i was gonna sell my car. xtd and xtr clutches on ebay go for about $130 or so.

I'm currently using an XTD Stage 2 clutch and have had no problems out out of it, been in for probably 1 1/2 years now. Grabs/Hooks up very nice. Its got a pretty narrow engagement point so its not quite as easy to DD as a stock clutch but I like it and wouldn't give it up.
