Need some urgent help with 1995 EX
I really need some help with this one, so if anyone can I'd really appreciate it.
I haven't done any work on the car recently and it's been running great for the last few months.
Today I went to go start her up and she won't start. The fuel pump is not priming or staying on, I have no dash + gauge lights at all, the A/C is not working and neither do the blinkers. BUT, I do have headlights, stereo, dome light, hazards and the alarm works. The battery is fully charged and the car WILL crank over, it will run only so long as I hold the starter on but then instantly dies as I let the key go. I need this car running ASAP and I have no idea what's wrong, is this a main relay or ignition switch issue? Ideas anyone??? If you'd like a video or want some more detailed descriptions of the issue just let me know!
***Edit: If I turn the key to position III everything will work again and the pump will prime but the car still won't stay running...

I know at one time there was a problem with the electrical portion of the ignition switches, there was actually a recall on some Civic's(and other models)not sure abount the 95's though, can you hold the key in a certain spot to keep it running?
Also have replaced many main fuel relys on Honda's,but a fuel relay will not cause the dash lights and blinkers not to work. You have a video??

Yeah I would replace the ignition switch electrical portion can be replaced seperate than the mechanical portion. As long as the key is not worn or sticking that part should be ok.If your in Raleigh NC I can fix it for ya,lol

Probably just gonna replace the whole thing to be sure, plus I'm not great with electrical work. Gonna be pushing it into the garage in a little bit

Thanks for the help, I'll get the switch replaced asap and hope it solves the problem, if not well then back to HT for some more help.
The bolts that hold the mechanical portion to the steering column have breakaway heads and can be a real pain to remove.Sometimes i use a small flat chisel and hammer to turn the bolts(counter clockwise).other times I drill the head of the bolts off.Good lock bro.
Alright got it off, thanks for the help. The hammer+chisel way you mentioned worked perfectly on the bolts and was a lot easier than I expected.
Just gotta order the part tomorrow, gonna spend the meantime stealth installing my alarm over the crappy Best Buy install
